The Rochester City School District transportation policy is set by our Board of Education. The New York State Education Department requires school districts to provide transportation to elementary school children who live more than two (2) miles from the school they attend and secondary school children who live more than three (3) miles from the school they attend. Our Board of Education has shortened the distance to more than one and one-half (1.5) miles from the school attended for all grades as allowed by the New York State Education Department.
