The Rochester City School District uses the online platform PowerSchool to enroll students for school. One-time PowerSchool account creation is required to complete the online process. To begin, choose what grade your child will attend:

New and returning students who will enter grades K through 12.

Students entering or returning to the RCSD must register their child with the Office of Student Registration.  Parents / Caregivers must provide acceptable documentation to complete the registration process. After a student is registered, they are assigned a student ID number and become eligible to complete an online enrollment through PowerSchool.

The 2025-26 School Selection Process for the Rochester City School District opened on Friday, December 6, 2024.  During the school selection process, City residents with children entering PreK, Kindergarten, 7th, and 9th grade are able to enroll online for the 2025-26 school year.

Students in RCSD PreK 4 are not automatically enrolled in Kindergarten and must complete the school selection process to be placed. Students entering grades 7 and 9 who do not participate in the school selection process will be placed in a school closest to your home where space is available after the selection process is complete.
