Teacher Evaluation Information
-
The teacher evaluation process involves updating the Teacher Evaluation Guide to reflect procedural changes, evaluating teachers in planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities, and incorporating student performance indicators. Teachers will receive ratings of "Highly Effective," "Effective," "Developing," or "Ineffective" under Education Law Section 3012-c, or "Distinguished," "Proficient," "Meets Professional Standards," "Below Professional Standards," or "Unsatisfactory" using traditional rubrics. The evaluation procedures will be updated as soon as they are approved. The Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) will use the revised guide. The Career in Teaching Joint Governing Panel will be responsible for making any necessary changes to the APPR.
