CTE- Emergency Medical Responders
This course is designed for First Responders In Emergency Medical Care); EMR (Emergency Medical Responders) is the first medical trained person to arrive on the scene of an emergency. The initial care you give as an EMR is essential because it is provided before more advanced emergency medical care and could mean the difference between life and death. The topics covered include a minimum knowledge of Emergency Medical Systems, Safety/well-being of the EMR, Medical/legal issues at the scene of an emergency while waiting for a higher level of care to arrive. The follow-up to this course is the Emergency Medical Technician that is offered to a successful post-graduate of the program for free at the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center. EMT’s respond to medical and trauma emergencies, and transport the sick and injured to medical treatment Centers. Successful completion of this course leads to eligibility to take New York State EMT Certification Exam and acquire certification to be employed with AMR Ambulances Services.
