CTE-Criminal Justice Course (Police, Security & Corrections Class)
The program prepares youth with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to meet the high demand for diverse and local residency candidates in the Public Safety sector of Police, Security and Corrections. This course will cover Criminal Justice topics that relate to the 21st Century approach to Multicultural Law Enforcement; Criminal Justice System, Problems and Solutions in Modern Policing, Criminal Court and the quest for justice, Corrections- the levels of rehabilitation. Along with the methods involving concepts of Peacekeeping in a diverse society; Challenges of Law Enforcement in a Multicultural society, The Changing of the policies and procedures across Law Enforcement Agencies in America, The Process of Police Recruitment, Retention and Promotion, and the exploration of the Multicultural elements of Terrorism and Disaster Preparedness. Each Student may also be eligible to sit and take the 8-hour and 16-hour Unarmed Security Guard class towards NYS Security Guard certification.
