Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Camille has dedicated her career to youth advocacy and academic success. She is passionate about the power of community voice, equity, high-quality instruction, relationships, and early childhood interventions to improve educational outcomes for students in Rochester. Over the years, she has mentored hundreds of students and supported programs focused on youth employment, college and career readiness, tutoring, and life skills development. 

 

Camille grew up in the 19th Ward and is a proud graduate of Wilson Magnet High School. She is also the mother of a son who graduated from the Rochester City School District. She holds an A.S. in Liberal Arts and a Certificate in Human Services from Monroe Community College, a B.S. in Social Work from Keuka College, and an M.S. in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan University. A lifelong learner, Camille continuously seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge. She is a 2010 graduate of United Way’s African American Leadership Development Program and a 2015 graduate of Leadership Rochester. Camille has served in community organizations focused on youth development, collective impact, and leadership development. She believes it is our collective responsibility to create the conditions needed for our scholars to thrive, embodying Frederick Douglass’s belief: “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
