RCSD Dynamic Leaders: Richard Smith, Principal, Franklin Upper School

(November 30, 2022) The Rochester City School District is fortunate to have dynamic leadership in all of its school buildings, and we are shining a bright spot on team members supporting students during the 2022 – 23 school year.

Mr. Richard Smith is the Principal of Franklin Upper School.  He oversees students in grades 9 – 12 in a school that provides advisory classes as well as incorporating social-emotional learning for all grades in all classes.

“As Principal, I want to give back as well as share and create experiences for all of our students,” said Smith.  “Each school year we have fresh beginnings and new opportunities to implement projects and initiatives.”

An employee in the RCSD for 27 years, Mr. Smith has served as an Elementary Teacher, a Reading Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and a Principal.

Please join us in applauding Mr. Smith for his fantastic work to help RCSD scholars succeed!
