RCSD Dynamic Leaders: Mary Ferguson – Principal, Frank Fowler Dow School No. 52
(November 9, 2022) The Rochester City School District is fortunate to have dynamic leadership in all of its school buildings, and we are shining a bright spot on team members supporting students during the 2022 – 23 school year.
Dr. Mary Ferguson is the Principal of Frank Fowler Dow School No. 52. She oversees students in grades PreK – 6 in a school that is consistently one of the top performing in the District in a building that is home to a successful music program.
“We have an amazing amount of parent support and involvement, and the students and teachers are amazing too,” said Ferguson. “I originally only wanted to be a principal for a short time, but I liked it so much I wanted to stay. I get excited to see how much students look forward to school.”
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Dr. Ferguson has served as a Social Studies Teacher, a Test Liaison and Registrar, a Coordinator of State and Local testing, and she also spent a year at Young Mothers and Interim Health Academy. Currently in her eighth year as Principal at School No. 52, Dr. Ferguson has served as Principal of Bioscience and Heath Careers High School at Franklin and as Principal at Northeast College Preparatory High School.
Please join us in applauding Dr. Ferguson for her fantastic work to help RCSD scholars succeed!
