Summer of Discovery: Highlighting RCSD Staff
(August 4, 2022) To celebrate the RCSD’s Summer of Discovery, the District is highlighting staff members who support our summer learning programming.
Ms. Julie Ricciuto is the summer school principal for RISE Community School No. 106. An Assistant Principal at RISE since December of 2021, Ms. Ricciuto is overseeing 50 students enrolled in the school’s Summer Quest program at Dr. Charles T. Lunsford School No. 19.
“I am honored to work with our amazing students, families, and staff who truly make RISE a special place,” said Ricciuto. “Students have been engaged in learning all about urban agriculture through reading, writing, and STEAM. They have been able to make transferable and meaningful connections to their community through field trips to the Gandhi Institute and the Rochester Public Market. Our students have already begun planning for a community garden at Rise.”
Ms. Ricciuto has been with the District since 2012 when she started as an elementary teacher at then Nathaniel Rochester Community School No. 3. She has also served as an elementary teacher at Adlai E. Stevenson School No. 29 and an elementary teacher at RISE.
Please join us in applauding Ms. Ricciuto for her efforts to help RCSD scholars succeed!
