Summer of Discovery: Highlighting RCSD Staff

(August 3, 2022) To celebrate the RCSD’s Summer of Discovery, the District is highlighting staff members who support our summer learning programming.

Ms. Megan Tice is the summer school principal for Mary McLeod Bethune School No. 45.  Currently completing her administrative internship, Ms. Tice is enrolled in the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education School Administrator certification program.  She is overseeing 100 students this summer who have a unique opportunity to interact with staff.

“I believe in providing opportunities for children to extend their own learning and to apply their knowledge in authentic, real-world situations,” said Tice.  “Some students have the opportunity this summer to work with their teachers for the next school year.  This allows them to build relationships in order to set the 2022- 23 school year off right.”

Ms. Tice has been with the District since 2016 when she started her RCSD career as a speech-language pathologist at School No. 45.  She also completed student teaching at Anna Murray-Douglass Academy School No. 12, and she is currently a soccer and lacrosse coach in the Webster Central School District.

Please join us in applauding Ms. Tice for her efforts to help RCSD scholars succeed!
