Third Grade Teacher at Anna Murray-Douglass Academy School No. 12 Recipient of Golden Apple Award

(May 19, 2022) The Rochester City School District would like to congratulate Mrs. Theresa Hamm on being the recipient of a Golden Apple Award from News 8.  Staff at School No. 12 nominated her for the award.

“Theresa is very collaborative, she’s just a ton of fun,” said Assistant Principal Margaret Crowley.  “She makes learning fun, kids love being in her classroom.”

Hamm is not afraid to think creatively when it comes to celebrating the successes of her students.  “We were charged as a school to do a challenge,” said Principal Katie Trepanier. “Theresa Hamm picked it right up.  She got our whole school going with charts to measure our success and third grade was the winner, so she charged the whole third grade level to get together to learn  We are the Champions by Queen and know they are champions because they set their goals high, and they met them.”

Hamm says her favorite part about being a teacher is coming to work every day, having fun learning, and seeing everybody smile.  She said, “it is just really nice to be appreciated.”

Mrs. Hamm has been teaching in the District for 21 years.  Please join us in congratulating this dedicated staff member on this well-deserved honor.
