Students at Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School No. 10 Benefit from Dress Giveaway
(May 11, 2022) Young ladies at Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School No. 10 are benefiting from the generosity of a local business owner to enjoy upcoming end of school year activities.
Sandy Arena is the owner of Worth More Nation, and on Tuesday, May 10, she provided more than 150 dresses to young ladies who attend School No. 10. The dresses are for the students to wear for the school's rites of achievement ceremony in June, moving up ceremonies, and graduation events.
The goal of Worth More Nation is to empower young ladies and show them they are worth more. The organization will be working more closely with School No. 10 in the future to help students with social-emotional learning by teaching etiquette and social skills, all while gaining confidence.
“We really want to build the self-esteem of our young ladies,” said Principal Eva Thomas. “It is a wonderful way to teach our scholars how to become young ladies, how to gain social etiquette, and how to carry themselves as beautiful young ladies.”
School No. 10 is working to establish a girls group next year with the help of Worth More Nation. This will include etiquette courses and a pageant for School No. 10 girls in 3rd through 6th grades.
