Students at Roberto Clemente School No. 8 Receive Laptop Computers from Rochester Rotary Members
(October 12, 2021) The Rochester City School District thanks members from the Rochester Rotary who, through their organizations, have donated laptop computers and software to students at Roberto Clemente School No. 8.
The Shore Foundation donated 50 refurbished Dell laptops valued at more than $17,000 dollars to School No. 8 students. Entre Computer Services donated the software, as these laptops will come equipped with programs such as Adobe PDF reader and Zoom.
The Shore Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the community through equal access to technology for low-income individuals and families. The laptop donations are also made possible through support from the Konar Foundation, a private grant-making entity that gives generously to programs, institutions, and organizations in Rochester and elsewhere.
Roberto Clemente School No. 8 has been Rochester Rotary’s adopted school since 1994. The Rotary supports students at School No. 8 through a college scholarship program and by tutoring and reading to students. Students have also been provided library books and winter clothing along with field trips to area businesses.
