RTA Video Features Teachers at Roberto Clemente School No. 8
(September 16, 2021) Rochester Teachers Care is a monthly video series from the Rochester Teachers Association (RTA) that highlights the exemplary work and dedication of our colleagues in service to our students.
This month’s Rochester Teachers Care video highlights sixth-grade teacher Gia Vallone and special education teacher Molly Bianco from Roberto Clemente School No. 8. They were part of a group of teachers and paraprofessionals who participated in a door-knocking campaign with the support of New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). The goal was to engage with families about their learning experiences during COVID and discover how schools could provide additional support moving forward. Nine members from both RTA and Rochester Association of Paraprofessionals (RAP) canvassed neighborhoods over the summer, knocking on 4,000 doors to make connections with families and students.
