Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School Commencement Academy Counselor Receives National Honor

Jamie Miner

(February 11, 2021) A Rochester City School District counselor is among 400 individuals who are being recognized nationwide.  Jamie Miner, a school counselor at Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School Commencement Academy, has been nominated for the College Board Counselor Recognition Program.

This program honors the innovative middle and high school counselors who go the extra mile to expand opportunity for students—and who are seeing results.

Ms. Miner has been a counselor at Wilson Commencement Academy for the past five years and has been employed by the District since 2008.

The 400 school counselors nominated nationwide were nominated by their colleagues for their work in their school and community.  The College Board celebrated these nominees last week during National School Counselor Week.  Each nominee was mailed an official letter and a lapel pin, and their name, school, and state has been posted on the College Board’s website.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Miner on this well-deserved honor.
