Citizen Action of New York Honors Ruth Turner

(August 12, 2019) The Rochester City School District is pleased to inform you that Citizen Action of New York has recognized Ruth Turner, Chief of Student Support Services and Social Emotional Learning, with a “Be the Power Award.”
This award is given to recipients who have shown a dedicated commitment to youth in the City of Rochester. Ruth has been honored for leading the fight for education equity and supporting Citizen Action’s continued work for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice within the City of Rochester.
Citizen Action of New York is a grassroots membership organization in the forefront of issues such as; quality education and after-school programs for all children, and dismantling racism and promoting racial justice.
Ruth was recently honored at the Citizen Action of New York’s first annual fundraiser that was held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Legacy Drama House on Webster Avenue in Rochester.
