World of Inquiry Boys Basketball Team Makes Historic Run to State Final Four
(March 17, 2025) The World of Inquiry School No. 58 boys basketball team has made history with its remarkable run to the state final four, and the entire Rochester City School District is celebrating this incredible achievement. The Griffins punched their ticket to the final four after defeating Akron in the Class B Far West Regional on Friday, March 14. Leading the charge was Kanaz Linder with 16 points, Devin Dillon with 13 points, and Curtis Bell, with 11 points.
Now, World of Inquiry is preparing for its biggest challenge yet. The Griffins will face Marcellus from Section III in the state semifinal on Saturday, March 22, at 11:45 a.m. in Binghamton.
On March 8, the team won its first-ever Class B Section V championship. In an intense battle at the Blue Cross Arena, the Griffins secured a 62-53 victory over Waterloo to claim the Section V Class B1 title.
Head Coach Willie Mason, who was recently named Section V’s Class B1 Coach of the Year, has been instrumental in guiding the team to this unprecedented success.
