Interim Superintendent Dr. Demario Strickland Announces Leadership Appointments
(January 24, 2025) Interim Superintendent Dr. Demario Strickland is pleased to announce the appointments of Callie Andler as the Acting Principal of World of Inquiry School No. 58, Adam Rodger as the Acting Principal of Padilla High School at the Franklin Campus, and Rebecca Fox as the Executive Director of Arts.
Callie Andler Named Acting Principal of World of Inquiry School No. 58
Ms. Andler brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership in education. Currently serving as Assistant Principal at East Upper School, she co-leads the Freshman Academy, overseeing strategic initiatives to foster academic success, positive social development, and a sense of belonging among students. Her efforts have included implementing innovative systems like biweekly student-led town halls and a Freshman Academy Family Group structure to address students’ social-emotional needs. Her leadership earned her the RCSD Administrator of the Year Award in Spring 2024. Previously, Ms. Andler served as Assistant Principal at Greece Olympia School, where she led the equity team to elevate student and family voice, expanded restorative practices, and implemented district-wide initiatives such as the Culturally Responsive Sustaining Framework. Prior to becoming a leader, she started her career in our District as a school counselor. She officially begins her duties as Acting Principal on February 3, 2025.
Ms. Andler holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Rochester Warner School of Education. She also earned a Master’s Degree in School and Community Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Stonehill College.
Adam Rodger Named Acting Principal of Padilla High School at the Franklin Campus
With a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in education and leadership, Mr. Rodger brings extensive expertise and a proven track record of success to this role. Most recently, Mr. Rodger has served as Assistant Principal at Andrew Langston Middle School, where he oversaw operations, supervised teachers, managed student programs, and implemented innovative procedures to enhance school culture. Prior to this, Mr. Rodger held numerous leadership positions, including Associate Director of Special Education, Principal of various summer programs, and Assistant Principal at multiple RCSD schools, where he excelled in student management, strategic planning, and program development. Throughout his career, Mr. Rodger has been recognized for his dedication to fostering student success, improving graduation rates, and creating inclusive environments through restorative practices and innovative initiatives. He officially begins his duties as Acting Principal on January 30, 2025.
Mr. Rodger holds a Certificate of Advanced Study and a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Brockport, along with Permanent New York State Certifications in School District Administration (SDA) and Physical Education.
Rebecca Fox Named Executive Director of the Arts
Ms. Fox brings over 15 years of experience in music and arts education, with a decade dedicated to serving the Rochester City School District. Most recently, she served as a Music Teacher Leader, where she supported District-wide initiatives to enhance arts instruction and foster student engagement in the performing arts. She also directed the Pride of Rochester Marching Band since its inception, a program she has led with distinction for 10 years. Ms. Fox has an extensive background in music education and leadership, including her tenure as Band Director at RCSD and her prior roles as Marching Band Director and Winter Drumline Instructor at Hilton High School. Her leadership has extended beyond teaching, as she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to inspiring creativity and excellence in students and colleagues alike. Ms. Fox has served as the Executive Director of the Arts in an acting capacity since November 13, 2024, and will now take on the position permanently, effective January 24, 2025.
Ms. Fox holds an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from SUNY Fredonia, a Master of Science in Creative Studies from SUNY Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Teacher Education from SUNY Potsdam. Her dedication to the arts and her vision for expanding culturally relevant, equitable, and accessible arts education make her a valuable leader for the District.
