RCSD Student-Athletes Earn All-State Football Honors

(January 16, 2024) The Rochester City School District congratulates the student-athletes from James Monroe High School, East High School, and World of Inquiry School No. 58 who were honored with all-state team selections in football, as the New York State Sportswriters Association selected.

Messiah Hampton, James Monroe High School, WR, 1st Team Offense
Messiah was a wide receiver, running back, safety, kick, and punt returner with 21 touchdowns this season.  He was recently selected to participate in the exclusive Nike “The Next Ones” Athlete Invitational and will be in New Orleans during the week of Super Bowl LVIX (59) competing in a skills challenge alongside 31 other top athletes from across the country.

Anthony Omebe, James Monroe High School, DE, 1st Team Defense
Anthony was a defensive end, wide receiver, and tight end.  His key accomplishments were 22 sacks. 

Jeremiah Tucker, East/World of Inquiry, LB, 2nd Team Defense
Jeremiah was a linebacker on this year’s team.  His key accomplishments were 105 tackles, six sacks, and 12 tackles for loss.  

Yusef Abdi – East High School/World of Inquiry, PK, 3rd Team Offense
A senior who only started playing football a couple of years ago, Yusef broke a Section V record in October of 2024 with 156 career kicking points

Styhles McKenzie-Baker, James Monroe High School, DB, 4th Team Defense
Styles was a defensive back and wide receiver.  His key accomplishments were the touchdowns he scored. 

Tajmir Mullins, James Monroe High School, RB, 6th Team Offense
Tajmir was a running back on this year’s team and rushed for 1,600 yards.  He is a Section V Class A first-team all-star. 

Femi Koumassou, East High School/Word of Inquiry, OL, 6th Team Offense
Femi was an offensive tackle and defensive end.  His team won 34 games, including a Section V championship during his four years as a starter.
