Where do Project SEARCH students find employment?
You can find Project SEARCH graduates working all over our community. A few examples include Wegmans, URMC, The City of Rochester, Rochester General Hospital, and The Monroe County Library System.

Do the interns have a job coach?
Yes. Project SEARCH has 3 job coaches ( the instructor, the teacher's assistant and a job coach from Job Path.

Are Project SEARCH students paid?
The internships are unpaid, but interns learn valuable work skills and Project SEARCH provides students with exposure to opportunities for good jobs and potential careers.

What is a typical day like?
Our day starts at 7:45 am. We have about an hour of classroom instruction before the students head to their internships at 8:45 am. They work until around 1:30 pm. Students then return to the classroom for afternoon assignments and are dismissed at 2:00 pm.

What about transportation?
Learning to take public transportation is an important part of Project SEARCH. Students are taught to ride RTS and are provided with free bus passes.

How long is Project SEARCH?
Project SEARCH is a one-year program.
