• Become a Volunteer in a Rochester City School today.

The Office of Community Partnerships assists in the acceleration of student achievement by cultivating and maintaining supportive partnerships between schools and the Rochester community.  We know our community has much to offer students through assisting with time and resources as volunteers and mentors. We are happy to have you as a partner and look forward to connecting you with one of our schools today!

    In Person Volunteering
We thank you for your time and willingness to help the students of the Rochester City School District.  We continue to have strict mask mandates and other protocols in place in the District, especially with the new variants of the COVID-19 virus becoming more prevalent.

Out of an abundance of caution for students and staff, we are limiting access to school buildings.  We are allowing limited access for volunteers, but those volunteers must be vaccinated in order to enter the buildings.  Proof of vaccination status either through a vaccination card or the New York State Excelsior Pass application on your phone is required.

All current & future in-person volunteers are required to provide proof of vaccination by submitting to volunteer@rcsdk12.org.

    Virtual Volunteering
There is now a virtual volunteering option available. Virtual volunteers will need access to a computer/laptop with a camera. For more information, please contact Ricky.frazier@rcsdk12.org.

    How do I get started?
There are 5 steps to becoming a volunteer:
    • Complete the Volunteer Application (electronically or by mail) below
    • Background and Reference Check
    • Attend a mandatory 1-hour In Person or Virtual Volunteer Orientation Session
    • Assignment to a school/program (based on volunteer skill set and individual school needs)
    • Provide proof of Vaccination by email

What sort of volunteer needs are there?
Needs vary from school to school but most students are in need of additional attention or support with their education. An adult can make an incredible difference in the life of a student or a whole school community.
(This process takes about 10 minutes to complete)
