RCSD Launches United Way Campaign

(May 15, 2024) The Rochester City School District joined representatives from the United Way of Greater Rochester on Monday, May 13, 2024, to help kick off the District’s annual goal of $60,000 dollars.

“This campaign is an opportunity for us to make a meaningful difference,” said Ruth B. Turner, Deputy Superintendent of Administration and Supports for the Rochester City School District.  “It fills me with great pride to know that our employees go beyond the typical school day when they give to our students and touch the lives of people in the community we serve.”

Here are just a few ways that the RCSD’s support for the United Way benefits Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes families:

  • 24 agencies provide 33 programs geared to increase the success and well-being of children and youth.
  • 16 summer programs promote physical health and bridge education.
  • 11 after-school programs provide academic support, mentoring, career exploration, IEP Specialist, arts, sports, and recreation.
  • Four mentoring and three other programs provide and promote positive youth development, mentoring, life and social skills, and college and career readiness.

The District is asking all of its employees to participate and give whatever they can to reach this ambitious goal.  Contributions make an impact, please view this video from the United Way.
