(November 17, 2023) The pleasant sound of music from School of the Arts (SOTA) students will fill the Hochstein School of Music on Sunday, November 19, as four of the school's talented students will perform with the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Under the theme of change, Peyton Crony on viola, Jacob LaDolce on percussion, Logan Reid on violin, and Charles Rogers on flute will perform numbers from Stella Sung’s Loco-Motion, Eric Whitacre’s October, William Grant Still’s Symphony No. 2 Song of a New Race, and Stauss’ Kaiser-Walzer.

The Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is home to the Rochester area’s most talented musicians in grades 8 – 12, it is a program of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in association with the Eastman Community Music School.  This program motivates student musicians to achieve excellence in performance and a life-long love of music as music professionals.

Peyton and Logan are part of the philharmonia orchestra at SOTA, and Jacob and Charles perform in the wind ensemble. In addition to performing in this weekend’s event at the Hochstein School of Music, Peyton, Logan, and Charles are playing in an all-state orchestra hosted by the New York State School Music Association.
