Dr. Charles T. Lunsford School No. 19 Librarian Named Forty Under 40 Honoree by the Rochester Business Journal
(September 18, 2023) The Rochester City School District congratulates Dr. Charles T. Lunsford School No. 19 librarian Laquanda Fields for being selected as a Forty Under 40 Honoree by the Rochester Business Journal.
Forty Under 40 recognizes Rochester’s leaders who are 39 years of age or younger for their professional accomplishments, community service, and commitment to inspiring change. A panel of judges consisting of prior year honorees from different professions selected this year’s Forty Under 40 winners.
Ms. Fields, in her second year as librarian at School No. 19, shares her love of reading with her school community. “I am pouring into the Rochester community,” said Fields. “I love our city and believe in dedicating my time to do my part in making it a great place to live, work, and play.”
“We are incredibly proud of Ms. Fields for her selection as a Forty Under 40 honoree by the Rochester Business Journal,” said Moniek Silas-Lee, Principal of School No. 19. “Her dedication to our school community and her commitment to making Rochester a better place exemplify the type of inspiring leader she is, and we are fortunate to have her as our librarian at School No. 19.”
Fields is a member of the Play Makers Leadership Council of the Strong National Museum of Play, a Vice President of Governance for the Junior League of Rochester, and Director of Community Engagement for the Imagination Library. She also volunteers her time with the Landmark Society and The Father’s House.
