RCSD Dynamic Leaders: Wakili Moore, Principal, Monroe Lower School
(December 2, 2022) The Rochester City School District is fortunate to have dynamic leadership in all of its school buildings, and we are shining a bright spot on team members supporting students during the 2022 – 23 school year.
Mr. Wakili Moore is the Principal of Monroe Lower School. He oversees students in grades 7 and 8 in a school that has a peer tutoring group and the SMART (Sports Majors, Athletics, and Regents Track) program, a unique pathway designed to help students achieve a New York State Regents Diploma while meeting NCAA guidelines and preparing for sports-related opportunities beyond the playing field.
“I grew up in this community and want to positively influence students who look like me,” said Moore. “I have an opportunity to help young people learn, have a positive impact, and have fun while doing it.”
An educator for 28 years, Mr. Moore has been an Assistant Principal and Principal at Virgil I. Grissom School No. 7, Principal at Leadership Academy for Young Men, and Principal at Theodore Roosevelt School No. 43.
Please join us in applauding Mr. Moore for his fantastic work to help RCSD scholars succeed!
