Summer of Discovery: Highlighting RCSD Staff

(August 12, 2022) To celebrate the RCSD’s Summer of Discovery, the District is highlighting staff members who support our summer learning programming.

Ms. Jeanne Markman is the summer school principal for the Rochester Early College High School Smart Scholars program at School Without Walls.  An Assistant Principal at Dr. Alice Holloway Young School of Excellence, Ms. Markman is overseeing students in grades 9 – 12 who are being provided an innovative educational opportunity that cultivates confident, college immersed, and globally competent scholars.

“It has been my pleasure working with students as they transition from middle to high school”, said Markman.  “We are engaging with students working towards a Regents diploma and an associate’s degree from Monroe Community College in this unique partnership.”

Ms. Markman began her career in 2001 as a Special Education teacher at Monroe Middle School.  She later served as an Assistant Principal at Monroe, Edison Career and Technology High School, School of the Arts, Wilson Magnet High School, and Virgil I Grissom School No. 7.

Please join us in applauding Ms. Markman for her efforts to help RCSD scholars succeed!
