RCSD Students to Perform Side-by-Side with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra

(April 2, 2025) Students in the Rochester City School District are tuning up for a memorable performance alongside members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO). In partnership with ROCmusic, the Side-by-Side Concert on Wednesday, April 2, will feature students from Francis Parker School No. 23, John James Audubon School No. 33, Austin Steward Elementary School No. 46, Frank Fowler Dow School No. 52, and School of the Arts. The performance tonight will take place at the Edgerton R-Center at 7 p.m.

Peyton Crony, a senior at School of the Arts and a proud ROCmusic alum, will be a featured guest performing a viola solo. Peyton is also the principal violist of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (RPYO) and recently earned a spot in an all-state orchestra.

These talented students have been rehearsing under the direction of RPO Assistant Conductor Jherrard Hardeman, who also serves as Music Director of the RPYO. The Side-by-Side Concert is a unique opportunity for students to collaborate with professional musicians, hone their skills, and gain valuable performance experience.

ROCmusic has played a significant role in developing young musicians in Rochester, providing students access to instruments, instruction, and opportunities to perform. Join us as we congratulate these students and celebrate the power of music education in the Rochester City School District.
