(January 7, 2025) The Rochester City School District congratulates Messiah Hampton, a James Monroe High School junior, for being selected to participate in the exclusive Nike “The Next Ones” Athlete Invitational. Messiah recently received his official invitation at a Buffalo Bills game and will head to New Orleans during the week of Super Bowl LVIX (59) for this prestigious event.
In February, Messiah will have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes action related to the Super Bowl and compete in a skills challenge alongside 31 other top athletes from across the country. Each NFL team can send a representative, and Messiah will proudly represent the Buffalo Bills.
A standout player for the Red Jackets, Messiah was recently named to the 2024 All-Greater Rochester Fall Team, as selected by the Democrat and Chronicle. He showcased his versatility by playing wide receiver, running back, safety, and as a kick and punt returner, scoring 21 touchdowns during the season.
Messiah’s impressive talents and hard work have earned him scholarship offers from top universities, including Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse, Toledo, and the University of Buffalo.
