Rochester Education Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization providing resources, programs, and partnerships to encourage the success of Rochester city students. REF:
- Provides music opportunities for students - we have given more than 1500 musical instruments to be used by city students since the launch of our Spring for Music program in 2005. Instruments are given to us by generous community members. We also support summer music lessons, support attendance at musical performances, and more.
- Supports literacy through our Teachers’ Choice program, through which Rochester educators apply for up to 200 new books to be used for book clubs and other creative activities, and then donated to students for home libraries.
- Coordinates FAFSA Fest community events, where free help is offered to students and their families filling out and submitting their college financial aid forms. Provide college tours to 10th graders and a regional college website with valuable information: Rochestercan.org
- Serves as a parent program for the Wilson Outdoors Club, The Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School 10 Fund, and One Step Closer fund providing sneakers to students in need.
