Leave of Absence

Reporting to work is very important, but equally important is having the ability to take time off when needed. A leave of absence is a way for employees who are experiencing out-of-the-ordinary circumstances to take time off work. Below is a listing of various leave of absence options available to our employees. Each union negotiates leave of absence provisions in their contracts. Below is a summary of the leave of absences that are generally used by staff.

Not all Leave of Absence options are listed below and most of our Leave of Absence options have some qualifications associated with them.
