Accounting Department
The Accounting Department’s mission is to efficiently manage and align the District’s financial resources to support a world-class educational experience, where every student achieves academic success. This office is responsible for the financial operations of the District including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel, project costing, and asset management.The Accounting Department also provides fiscal support services to the District’s operating departments and schools. Major responsibilities assigned to this department are financial reporting, processing of all revenue and expenditure transactions, and preparation of audited financial statements.The compilation of the Government Finance Officers Association Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is also prepared in this department.Many of the financial reports of the District are presented to the Board of Education, the New York State Education Department, the Federal government, and other various entities.Ongoing training is necessary to ensure that the District remains in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and other governing regulations which are updated on a regular basis.
