    This show featured the work of 9th and 10th grade Visual Arts majors.

    School of the Arts Visual Arts Department Presents the Permanent Collection as the first show of the season

    School of the Arts  has its very own permanent collection of art created by SOTA students. It was started by Principal David Silver in the 1990’s, and continues to grow and celebrate our student achievements in the visual arts. The Permanent Collection was established as a visual documentation of the type and quality of the visual arts work that SOTA students produce. 

    Art pieces are acquired by the Principal of the building. Most pieces are Senior Gifts chosen by the Principal each year. The principal chooses one piece created by a graduating visual arts major that they feel best represents our school that year. In return, the senior is given a gift sponsored by the Friends of SOTA and the Sally Fraser Rial Scholarship.  Additionally, some of the work in the collection has been gifted to SOTA or purchased by the school as initiated by the Principal. The art is mostly housed in the Main Office wing during the year. There are some pieces that are displayed throughout the building. The art is shown in the David Silver Art Gallery during each summer on a rotating basis
