• "Dislocations"
Recall a common experience to most people.  Create a piece that seeks to alter the experience from what is expected to an experience that is unexpected...that forces the view to reassess the meaning of the initial experience.
    An example:
Using the idea of homelessness and the resulting "social ignoring", one student created a piece that depicted disheveled individuals shopping in a mall as the norm...and the mall stores having sales of "cardboard boxes", "recycled footwear" and "gently used clothing".  This student struggled to visualize "normalize" homelessness by making it commonplace in a satirical manner.
