Wilmarth, A (do not delete, hidden) / International Education Week 2011-2012

RECIHS celebrated International Education Week (IEW) November 14-18. We welcomed guests who shared their various experiences in China, South Africa, Burma, Ghana, India, Russia, Japan, Ecuador, and Senegal. We were honored to have 4 delegates from Russia who were visitng the United States through the Open World Program, an exchange program which enables participants from Russia and other former Soviet republics to come to the US for meetings with thier professional counterparts. Scholars were also eager to meet with Roosevelt Bouie a four year starter for the Syracuse Orangemen. Mr. Bouie talked of his time playing basketbal for a team in Italy and a little about his short stint playing basketball in Spain. Mr. Bouie is currently the co-owner of Lega Basket USA which sponsored the first European Basketball tryout camps in the United States. The purpose of the camps is to provide opportunities for college age basketball players to try out for European leagues. IEW was a great success this year! We are so pleased with the various visitors that presented to our scholars.
