     Dr. Spence

    Dr. Christopher Spence serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Planning. He is charged with ensuring that the organization’s daily operation is commensurate with East’s mission and vision. Dr. Spence holds a Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo (U.B.), a premier research-one institution. The crux of his research is centered on teachers’ expectations, high-stakes testing, educational policy, student achievement (within the p-12 context), and stratification within the education system and beyond. In addition to his doctorate degree, he holds two masters in English Education (7-12) and educational administration, and the following New York State certifications: English Language Arts 7-12, School Building Leader, and School District Leader. Moreover, as a practitioner, Dr. Spence has worked in a variety of capacities, at varying levels as an English teacher, program coordinator, and administrator. He is excited to have an opportunity to work with the faculty and staff at East, while simultaneously supporting the Rochester community.
