• Volunteer @ East

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at East EPO Upper and Lower Schools! We are currently accepting volunteer applications for the 2023-2024 school year.

At East, we believe "it takes a village" to ensure the academic success and well-being of each scholar. As a community member, you may have a lot to offer our scholars and staff as part of this village. We will try to connect your talents and availability with our needs and schedule. We are grateful to have reciprocal relationships with a network of volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to support our school community.

In order to volunteer at East, you need to apply through the Volunteer Application Form. Once your application is received, the Volunteer Coordinator will review your application and complete a background check. If the background check is cleared, you will be matched with a volunteer opportunity, and you will be contacted via email or phone when a match is made to start volunteering!

Thank you again for your interest in supporting our scholars and school! We look forward to helping you employ your skills and talents. If you have any questions, please contact East's Community Coordinator, Luis Zarate, at Luis.Zarate@rcsdk12.org or (585) 288-3130 ext. 4263.

Why Should I Volunteer @ East?

There are many reasons why people volunteer: to support a cause, stay connected with a community, gain skills, strengthen a resume, and more. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, Rochester ranks as the city with the second highest volunteer rate in the country! Those interested in volunteering at East can experience challenging but rewarding opportunities. The work of teaching and learning is not easy, and the fruits of one's labor are often not seen until years later, but it remains one of the most important forms of work there is.

By becoming a Volunteer @ East you can:

    • Help scholars grow both academically and developmentally
    • Be part of the "All In" environment at East and support the great changes that are happening
    • Participate in a close-knit network with other volunteers and teachers
