Jennifer Rees serves as the Chief Academic Officer, leading the work around academic programming, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning at East to support the school’s mission of empowering scholars to take charge of their future by being tenacious, thinking purposefully, and advocating for self and others. With over 15 years of experience in education, she has developed strong foundations as an instructional leader specializing in the development and implementation of data-driven systems for continuous improvement.  Her experiences as a Special Education teacher, instructional coach, Assistant Principal, Program Administrator, and Summer Program Principal have allowed her to build a strong foundation of instructional practice in the core areas of curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and the use of data to inform instruction, and the facilitation of high-quality professional development.  Ms. Rees is invested in building organizational capacity to ensure the success of all students.
