At the Maplewood YMCA were are able to offer some additional program components that may not be found in other UPK programs.

Story Time with Ms. Fran - We join Ms. Fran for story time once a month. Ms. Fran who is one of our seniors picks out books to read to and interact with the children. She recently read the book The Hat by Jan Brett and bought each child a hat to take home.

Swimming - We swim every Thursday for an hour in an indoor heated pool with lifeguards on duty. Each child is given a life jacket to wear and adults are in the water as well. Parents welcome to join us.

Gloria's Garden - We partner with our seniors to plant a harvest our community garden. We use the fresh produce for snack.
