• Parent Power Moments

    Parent Power Moments is an educational and informational virtual resource for parents, caregivers, the RCSD community, and Community Partners of the Early Childhood Department (ECD). Adult Family Educators (AFEs) utilize this unique and innovative format to engage and educate the families and caregivers of preschool students.

    Parents and caring adults are the first "Superheroes" for our youngest scholars. The vision of Parent Power Moments is to equip parents and caregivers with the necessary tools to continue to develop their superpowers as their child's first teacher and most powerful advocate.

    October 2024: PreK Parents are Superheroes

    Our October PPM highlights the important role that parents play in their child's PreK experience. Adult Family Educator, Bonita Williams interviews one of our PreK "Parent Superheroes" from School #22. Ms. Shaonna is a PreK 4 parent whose son, Kaye'son, has a passion for music. She loves the daily opportunities that his PreK teachers provide for him to explore and learn more about his interest in music and his favorite instrument, the drums!

    September 2024: First Day PreK Vibes 

    In our first installment of the 2024-25 school year, AFE Bonita Williams interviews a PreK parent from School #22 to discuss the amazing experience that her and her child shared together on their first day of PreK!
