Advertising Design I
Duration: Full-year 2 period Course. Credits 2.0
Prerequisite: Introduction to Digital Media – Advertising Design, Grade level 11
This course is designed for students who have completed Intro to DMAC Ad Design. Students will advance their knowledge of software skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as well as be introduced to two new programs Adobe InDesign and Lightroom. Students will be introduced to page layout for print and web design, photography, as well as print and production techniques. A concentration of both design theory and prepress/production through project-based problem-solving. Students will find design and production solutions for traditional graphic problems. Throughout this year we will continue to develop skills in critical thinking, compare and contrasting essays using content area text, and short answer writing with well-formed sentences that express a full understanding of the subject matter. A research paper on Design careers will be worked on throughout the year.
