Dual credit is an opportunity for high school students to earn college credit while successfully completing required high school coursework. If you plan to attend college, this is a "NO BRAINER" ! Here's how it works... Register for your college course with your photography teacher, pay your reduced portion of the tuition, complete your required coursework with a "B" or higher and BINGO; you just earned three transferable college credits! Simple as that! Your college credits will originate from Monroe Community College but that doesn't mean you have to attend MCC to benefit from this opportunity. As long as your college accepts transfer credit, your credits will count toward a degree. Currently photo majors can earn up to 6 college credits for photo coursework. Be aware these are beneficial even if you do not plan to pursue a college degree in photography. Most college programs require elective credits or art credit. Photography credits could apply to either of those requirements! AND...the best part of this deal is the fact that you will only pay approximately one-third of the regular tuition cost. Generally, tuition runs about $50.00 for three credit hours as opposed to $300.00 or more post high school.
