     Babette Phillips

    Ms. Babette Phillips is a proud graduate of the Rochester City School District.  Born and raised in Rochester, she attended #6, the “new” #9, #41, Interim Middle School (today Nathaniel Rochester Community School) and then in 1982 the “new” Edison Tech. 

    Later, as a 1986 Edison Graduate and Alumni, she was afforded the opportunity to attend and complete her undergraduate and graduate degree at Nazareth College of Rochester wherein 1990 and 1991, she received her B.A. in English Literature and her M.S in Education with 7-12 NYS Certification in English. 

    Shortly after graduation, she obtained a position as a social worker before being afforded the opportunity to work within the RCSD as 7-12 English Language Arts Teacher, Lead Teacher Mentor, and Literacy Coach for 8 years. 

    During this time, as she raised her two daughters, she continued her education and graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2004 where upon completion, she was awarded the Educational Administration Distinguished Leadership Award and earned her M.S.Ed in Educational Leadership.

    As an administrator of 22 years, she continued to be of service to all within the RCSD as a Design Coach and Project Supervisor for America’s Choice. In her current role as Academy Director, she is relentless in her pursuit of excellence for all tasks assigned and the scholars she serves.
