My name is Dr. Jennifer Kehoe, Ph.D. and I have the joy of teaching your scholars at three different course levels: Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior English for Rochester Early College International. I taught at Wilson Magnet High School, Vanguard, Leadership Academy, Franklin, and prior to that, I was a Professor at several local colleges - including Roberts Wesleyan, St. John Fisher College, SUNY at Brockport, Daemen College and SUNY at Buffalo. My Ph.D. is in women's Black Literature of the 19th century and my Master's is in Poetics.
I am pleased to bring my expertise in literature and writing to our scholars at Early College. All of my classes have been writing essays, taking Cornell notes, annotating text, and discussing higher-level critical thinking. I am very proud of my scholars and the academicians they have become. Our scholars take reading, writing, speaking and listening very seriously in class.
The breakdown of scores for the English Department is the following
tests/essays/projects - 45%
classwork 35%
participation 20%
Scholars are allowed to correct and resubmit their work within two weeks for a higher score.
I am blessed to have such wonderful students and families, who both support their scholars' learning and growing into the young responsible adults we know they can be!
Yours truly,
Dr. Kehoe
