Meet Mrs. Schenk...
This is my 20th year in the district! I have been in kindergarten for 19 years, and two years in first grade. I spent the first 8 years of my career at #41 school, then 4 years at #57 school and 3 years at #42 school, 4 years at #12 school. This is my second year as a Griffin at World of Inquiry School #58! I am ecstatic to have landed "home"
I attended St. John Fisher College, where I graduated in 1998 with a major in Psychology, and a minor in Elementary Education. I went on to complete my Master's Degree at Suny Brockport. My thesis topic was "The Role of Parental Involvement in Developing Early Literacy Skills."
I am a mother of 3 boys! I have a high school graduate, 12th grader, and a 10th grader! Our picture is now a few years outdated, but it was taken in one of my favorite places on the planet, Bryce Canyon. My husband also works in the district with the Instructional Technology Department. The children will likely have an opportunity to meet him, as he works with all of the schools.
I love what I do, and feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love.
Here's how my love of kindergarten began, in Perth NY, 1981.
My first day of Kindergarten.
