My goals for teaching at School 36 are to provide the learning opportunities for students to love learning and be able to successfully continue their education and become life long learners.
I enjoy teaching at School 36 because of the hardworking and dedicated staff who share a common love for children and education.
I have been teaching for the Rochester City School District since September of 2002. I have been at School 36 since September 2006. I began teaching at Charlotte MS as consultant teacher for 7th and 8th graders. I also held a similar position at Fredrick Douglas.
Prior to coming to School 36, I was at Schools #1 and #23 working as a consultant teacher in 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
I began my teaching career in 1980 as a 2nd grade teacher at St. Andrews. Over the years, I have also worked as a special education teacher at the high school, middle school and primary level for BOCEs in Spencerport, Spencerport Central School District and at two districts outside of Hartford, Connecticut.
I never had a favorite subject in school. Let’s just say I liked them all. I also don’t have a favorite subject to teach. I love to read and write and I love the structure of math. I am always fascinated by the natural world and the culture and history of the world.
I grew up in the town of Greece and graduated from Cardinal Mooney HS. I received my Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo and my Master’s degree from the State University of Connecticut in Storrs. Go Huskies!! I presently reside in the town of Spencerport.
My hobbies are writing, hiking, skiing, gardening, traveling, reading, cooking and coaching soccer.
Besides being the mother of four wonderful children, one of my proudest personal achievements is writing a book, Soul Language: Recognizing theVoice in My Heart, and having it published.
