    At TMMS, our Unified Sports program is a vibrant embodiment of our core values: Justice, Access, and Growth. Designed to bring together students from our Social Communications Program (ASD) and their general education peers, Unified Sports fosters an inclusive environment where every Jaguar can thrive—athletically, socially, and personally. 

    Why Unified Sports Matters for Our ASD Students? 

    Unified Sports, a collaboration between the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) and Special Olympics New York, is built on the principle of meaningful involvement. This approach ensures that every student, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to contribute to their team's success through their unique skills and talents. 

    For students in our Social Communications Program, participation in Unified Sports offer:

    • Enhanced Social Interaction: Engaging in team sports provides structured opportunities to build friendships, improve communication skills, and develop a sense of belonging within the school community.

    • Skill Development: Through regular practices and competitions, students enhance their physical abilities, learn the value of teamwork, and gain confidence in their capabilities.
