(6) What impact is made through learning Mayan?
The ease with which the dots and lines of the Mayan system can be added and subtracted may contribute in part to the achievement of children in the Yucatan. These students have been learning with the Mayan numeral system. Studies have shown that these students are achieving far beyond students in the formal education system of the country. The article proposes that the ease of the system lies in the fact that the system was invented for measuring time rather than doing calculations. This system helps to develop an analytical logic.
