• All permanent RAP employees are to receive an annual evaluation, to be completed by April 30th. The probationary period for newly hired and/or newly promoted is 1 year from date of hire. Employees are to be evaluated twice during the probationary period. The first evaluations should take place no later than the 12th week of employment. The 2nd evaluation is completed no later than 30 days prior to the end of the evaluation period. Performance concerns should be directed to your HCI Zone Director for guidance.
     
    Process:
     
    Teaching Assistant Evaluation – Annual Evaluation (April 30thfor performance concerns, May 15th for all others)
    • Formal observation by administration of tenured Teaching Assistants shall be a maximum of one (1). This observation shall take place no later than May 15.

    • Formal observations by administrators of non-tenured Teaching Assistants shall be a minimum of one (1). The first observation shall be no later than January 30th; the second, if needed to take place between February 1 and April 15; and the last, if needed, shall take place no later than May 15.
    Paraprofessional Civil Service Evaluation – Annual (April 15th)
    • Probationary - there shall be an initial evaluation to be completed no later than the twelfth week of employment. If an evaluation is unsatisfactory but not sufficient for termination, the evaluator may recommend that the employee be continued for a second evaluation.
    • A second evaluation shall be completed no later than thirty (30) days prior to the end of the probationary period. All second evaluations shall be considered as final evaluations. An unsatisfactory final evaluation will result in termination. A satisfactory final evaluation shall constitute completion of the probationary period. Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period, the employee shall have permanent employment status
