Hello, I am proud to serve as the School Principal of Anna Murray-Douglass Academy, No. 12. My name is Mrs. Katie Trepanier and I am overjoyed to serve as your principal and to work with you and your child/children to achieve their goals and discover their potential as they continue to grow in their learning to be world-ready.
Originally from Rochester, I started my teaching career as a high school student volunteer at School No. 7. My aspiration was always to work in a school setting with students, families, and teachers. After graduating from college, I moved to Charlotte, NC to start my career teaching English as a New Language to English Language Learners. As my goals and ambitions grew, I wanted to assist students and families on a larger scale. After obtaining my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, I was appointed as Assistant Principal in Charlotte for 2 years before returning home to Rochester.
Upon coming home in 2016, I returned to teaching English as a New Language at School No. 23 and then became a Literacy Coach at the RISE Community School. While at RISE, I also became a mom! My daughter Caroline is now 3 and a half years old. My husband Erik, Caroline, and I love exploring the hidden gems that are all around us in our great City.
For the 2019-2020 school year, I was your PROUD AMDA12 3rd-5th Grade Assistant Principal. I spent the 20-21 school year as the Community School Site Coordinator at Edison Career and Technology High School where I was fortunate to learn about school pride and forward-thinking technology integration into teaching and learning.
The AMDA Administration Team and I will work together closely to meet your child's individual needs. We will continue the important work you all have already started under Principal Gonzalez’s leadership which is focusing on our four commitments as a school community. (Student and Family Leadership, Welcoming and Affirming Environment, Inclusive Curriculum and High Expectations and Rigorous Instruction) We will ensure this student-centered work happens in both our mono and bilingual instructional programming.
As we continue our journey, I am delighted to see so many familiar faces and looking forward to getting to know our new family members as we “Achieve Greatness Together”.
