Dress Code

All persons are expected to give proper attention to personal hygiene and to dress appropriately for school and school functions. When on school property or at a school function, a person’s dress, grooming and appearance, including jewelry, make-up and nails, must

Not include clothing, headgear or jewelry that is associated with or identifiable as a symbol of gang membership

Cover buttocks, stomach/midriff and chest

Be void of abusive, suggestive or profane language; symbols of illegal substances; or any other words, symbols or slogans that disrupt the learning environment or deny dignity or respect to others

Include shoes, which are to be worn at all times for health and safety reasons

In addition to the standards above, schools may prescribe reasonable school-level dress standards. Students who violate the dress code, including school-level standards, will be required to modify their appearance by covering or removing the offending item, and if necessary and/or practicable, replacing it with an acceptable item. Students who refuse to do so may be subject to intervention or discipline, in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

Vestimenta

Se espera que todas las personas le den atención adecuada a su higiene personal y a vestir apropiadamente para la escuela y actividades escolares. Cuando se esté en la propiedad de la escuela o en una actividad escolar, la vestimenta de una persona, aseo y apariencia, incluyendo joyería, maquillaje y uñas, debe:

No incluir ropa, sombreros, o joyas que están asociadas con o identificadas como un símbolo de membresía a una pandilla

Cubrir los glúteos, barriga/abdomen y pecho

Estar libre de lenguaje abusivo, sugestivo o profano; símbolos de sustancias ilegales; o cualquier otras palabras, símbolos o eslóganes que perturben el ambiente de aprendizaje o nieguen la dignidad o respeto a otros

Incluye zapatos, que deben usarse a todo tiempo por razones de salud y seguridad

En adición a las normas mencionadas arriba, las escuelas deben crear normas de vestimenta razonables al nivel escolar. Los estudiantes que violen el código de vestimenta, incluyendo las normas al nivel escolar, se les solicitará que modifiquen su apariencia cubriendo o removiendo el elemento ofensivo, y de ser necesario y/o practicable, reemplazarlo con un elemento aceptable. Los estudiantes que se rehúsen a hacer esto pueden ser sujetos a intervención o disciplina, de acuerdo con el Código de Conducta.
